Hiking and Kayaking in Alaska (June 12-23, 2000)

river Denali National Park covers over 9,000 square miles (24,000 square kilometers) which is larger than the state of Massachusetts, and yet it has only a single road. Getting anywhere requires fording rivers and trudging across the spongy tundra. Now that is what I call wilderness! (Photo by Derek)
