Laser Cooling and Trapping work (a.k.a. what I did for my Ph.D.)

cadillac-laser My latest fun with the machine-shop lead to this creation which spins our detection setup around the beam so that everything stays aligned. For the physicists out there ready to jump on my case for the red beams in the picture, I should point out they are not real.....I drew them there.
